The Pennsylvania legislature is a bill, HB 262, which provides for the right of an employee or prospective employee to refuse to participate in an invasive medical test or vaccination required by an employer in state law. Additionally, SB 471 prohibits mandatory vaccination of PA residents by the Commonwealth or as condition of employment. HB 1439 prohibits state & local government & business from denying services based on vaccination status. HB 286 prohibits discrimination by healthcare providers, facilities and insurers based on vaccination status.

It is unethical to compel Americans to get a medical procedure, particularly one that has been rushed through approval with unknown safety and effectiveness. The government's record on vaccine safety leaves much to be desired, with over $4 billion of taxpayer money being paid through the Vaccine Court for damages to children from vaccines.

The newly-approved COVID vaccines are not without risk. Severe allergic reactions have been reported at alarming rates; there are also signs of danger for pregnant women. The UK has not recommended that pregnant women receive the vaccine, yet the CDC refuses to follow this basic precautionary step. There is evidence that autoimmune patients are particularly at risk from experiencing serious blood clotting events following COVID vaccination; we must not discriminate against individuals who choose not to vaccinate for a legitimate medical concern.

It violates medical ethics to mandate a vaccine for which the public has not been given full transparency. Pfizer and Moderna have not made all of the data from their trials available to be independently reviewed, meaning we don't yet know the real risk/benefit of taking the vaccine, making it impossible for patients to decide for themselves what level of risk they are willing to tolerate.
