Protect Vaccine Choice in Texas

The Texas legislature is considering a number of bills, SB 138, HB 591, HB 516, and HB 1221 that mandate additional meningitis vaccines and mandate immunization for long-term care residents and staff to prevent the spread of communicable disease.

We must not lose our freedom to make informed choices about vaccines. Contact your state legislators and tell them to oppose SB 138, HB 591, HB 516, and HB 1221! Also tell them to support HB 1687, SB 1669, HB 125, and HB 24, which prohibit discrimination based on COVID-19 Vaccination status by employers, labor orgs. and agencies, prohibit employers from requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination and schools from mandating COVID vaccines, and prohibit discrimination by employers and insurance based on COVID vaccine status, respectively.

I understand bills have been introduced, SB 138, HB 591, HB 516, and HB 1221 that mandate additional meningitis vaccines and mandate immunization for long-term care residents and staff  to prevent the spread of communicable disease.

This raises a number of concerns for parents, children, and patients in general.

Parents have a right to make their own decisions about treatments for their children based on informed consent. Limiting a patient's ability to make informed decisions about what gets put into his or her body violates medical ethics.

I am very troubled by some of the ingredients that are used in vaccines, such as aluminum. Aluminum is a dangerous neurotoxin, and federal regulators have not done testing to ensure that the amount of aluminum being injected into children is safe. At the same time, there is a growing amount of data to show that aluminum can accumulate in the brain, spleen, and lymph nodes. We don't know what the long term damage could be.

Current law protects both my family's health and our right to make our own healthcare choices, and I call upon you to oppose SB 138, HB 591/ SB 138, HB 516, and HB 1221.

Please support HB 1687, SB 1669, HB 125, HB 24, and SB 99, which prohibit discrimination based on COVID-19 Vaccination status by employers, labor orgs. and agencies, prohibit employers from requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination and schools from mandating COVID vaccines, prohibit discrimination by employers and insurance based on COVID vaccine status, and prohibit COVID-19 vaccine mandates by a governmental entity, respectively.
