Protect Vaccine Choice in New York

Many states have laws that allow patients to exempt themselves from vaccinations based on personal, philosophical, or religious beliefs. That way, parents who are wary of government-mandated vaccination schedules can make their own informed decisions about their family’s health.

The legislature is still considering additional bills that further restrict freedom of choice: S298B/A2912A (mandates HPV vaccine); A099 (allows forced vaccination under some circumstances); A2316 (mandates flu vaccine for daycare); A973 (allows HPV and Hep B vaccine without parental consent); S2276 (mandates flu vaccine for school and daycare); A7838 (requires medical exemptions to be approved by the state health department); S4244C/A6564C (allows children 14 and older to be vaccinated without parental consent); S6279A (mandates vaccines for children's camps with no religious belief exemptions allowed); A2841 (mandates vaccines for employees working in children's camp); A973/S3899A (allows health care practitioners to administer all STD Vaccines to minors without parental consent); and A11179 mandates COVID-19 vaccine once FDA approves one.

The legislature is also considering A8676/S7362, A8834/S7202, and A11172 which add a religious belief exemption for school children, remove private parochial schools and day care centers from state vaccine law, and prohibit mandatory COVID-19 vaccines, respectively.

We must not lose our freedom to make informed choices about vaccines. Contact your state legislators and tell them to protect vaccine choice!
