Support Expanding the Naturopathic Scope of Practice in Maryland!

The state legislature is considering a bill, HB 219, that expands the scope of practice of licensed naturopathic doctors to allow them to order and perform physical and laboratory exams for diagnostic purposes; dispense or administer natural medicine including vitamins, dietary supplements, and homeopathics; and prescribe or administer naturally-derived prescription drugs.

Broadening the scope of practice for naturopathic doctors allows them to more fully apply their extensive knowledge and training in the practice of medicine. This gives consumers more options for healthcare and allows them to choose which practitioner best fit their needs.

Open and fair markets, in which consumers can decide what credentials and level of education they seek in healthcare professionals, guarantee the best outcomes.

Write your state reps and ask them to support HB 219!
