Protect Vaccine Choice in New Jersey

Many states have laws that allow patients to exempt themselves from vaccinations based on personal, philosophical, or religious beliefs. That way, parents who are wary of government-mandated vaccination schedules can make their own informed decisions about their family’s health.

But the New Jersey legislature is considering a set of bills, A1603, S903, A969/S902, A4576/S2907, A1244, A5144, and S4049, that mandate the HPV vaccine for certain school children, restrict or eliminate the religious belief exemption, require annual flu vaccine for public and private school students, require the Commissioner of Health to establish rules to mandate vaccines for health care vendors, allow minors 14 and older to consent to vaccination without parental consent, and require students, staff, and others present at colleges to receive COVID-19 vaccine, respectively.

Write to your legislators and urge them to protect freedom of choice in New Jersey and oppose these bills. Also tell lawmakers to support A4659/S2995, A600, and A5609, which would prohibit a government entity or school from requiring flu vaccines for persons 18 and under, provide exemptions to flu vaccine mandates based on allergies, and prohibit discrimination by government against individuals who refuse COVID-19 vaccines, respectively.
